You may feel like you are ready to jump in and start your clothing line business. But hold on. You have to take a number of further steps to make sure that people will actually want to buy the clothes that you make. You might think that your fashion designs are great. Let’s talk about something called the Lean Startup which is a concept and a methodology created by Eric Ries and Steve Blank who are some of the top thinkers in business today. According to the Lean Startup methodology, the entrepreneur should test out how customers will respond to the product by creating some small batch or a prototype, and begin getting feedback about it from real customers. That prototype is called the MVP which stands for minimum viable product.

The idea behind the Lean Startup methodology is that by quickly putting out your prototype, and constantly trying to get potential customers to give feedback about it, will enable you to quickly iterate and improve the product. It will also allow you to understand what might not be so good about the product, and what people do like. So this will help you improve your prototype very quickly and cheaply.
