I recently interviewed Celine Segal, who runs NowThatsLingere.com which is an online store and a blog for buying lingere and learning about lingere fashion and best fits. I asked Celine a few questions about her business, and here is what she said.
1) How did you start your business?
We had a brick and mortar store for nearly 23 years when my husband said that we needed to have a website presence.  We have been online for nearly 20 years.
2) What was the hardest thing about starting your business?
Getting everything together because it was still very new.  Getting a reliable payment processor, making sure the website was seen by users, changing the .html website for a  .php where we had several databases, working on social marketing.
3) How do you promote your business?
Via social media websites like Facebook, newsletters, Pinterest, Twitter.
4) What would you recommend to someone who wants to start a similar business?
Find out what your goals first, write them down, organize your thoughts and see if the goals can be attained.
5) What do you wish you knew about your business before you started it?
How to market ourselves better, how to grow our business and how to get efficient people to do it.
In our brick and mortar store we specialized in fitting, it became our forte.  People were coming from very far to come to see us for help.  We own both the American and Canadian trademarks for Bra Doctor and are looking to monetize the blog to its full potential.
