In this video tutorial I explain how to get more views on YouTube for your videos. If you are starting your channel, or if your channel is in a competitive niche where you are competing with gigantic companies or YouTube channels, it can be very difficult to stand out and get the views that your video deserves.

The best way to get views is to get the YouTube algorithm to show your video to people when they search, and in the recommended videos at the end of each video or on the side bar as people watch any given video. To get the algorithm to show your videos and not that of others, you need to do YouTube SEO to get your initial views, and use social media to get views in order to grow the video’s view count to a number which will be competitive with similar videos so that your video can win the favor of YouTube’s search and recommendation algorithm. I realize that this may sound contradictory since you have to do SEO (search engine optimization) for YouTube to begin to favor your video in their SEO, but in a way this is how it is. You must get that good cycle of positive reinforcement going on your own.

One thing you can do to boost the views of your videos is to post your videos on communities and forums where you think they would be well received. This doesn’t mean randomly spamming different websites by posting the link to your video. Instead, find communities where there are people who might enjoy the kind of content that you have to share, and interact with people there. Once you gain some trust, you can post links to some of your videos where you feel it might be appropriate. You should also post the video to your Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and Google Plus pages using appropriate hashtags to make sure that more people discover your post. Another way to get more views for you video on YouTube is to write a blog post on your website, and embed that video on the website. This will get you more views and improve your website in the ranking algorithm.
