Let’s start with revenue streams for a blog. The most common revenue stream for a blog is by publishing advertisements on your blog. The advertisements are easy to get. Just sign up for the Google Adsense program. The challenge with ads is that they do not make a lot of money. You can keep ads on your blog or website, but they will only make about $10 per 1,000 page views which means that you need very significant page views in order to make a reasonable amount of money.

The next revenue streams in terms of effectiveness having to do with selling products. You can sell products you produce, or you can resell products made by others for a commission. Selling products made by others is often referred to as affiliate marketing. I personally do some affiliate marketing, and it is a great revenue stream. It isn’t my main revenue stream, but it is a nice one if you can get it to work well.

Another revenue stream is to sell some sort of a consulting service. Another revenue stream is to sell your products on other sites in addition to your own website or blog. Some examples might be selling from Amazon, eBay, etsy, or other large online stores.
