How to get customers for an employment law solicitor business

facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedinmailby feather

I was recently contacted by a UK employment law solicitor business in UK, and wanted to share some thoughts on how to grow this kind of a business, and what other types of businesses can learn from, and use to grow their businesses.

My recommendation to start getting publicity in your local area. This may be contacting local bloggers, or contacting local radio shows. Whichever show doesn’t necessarily invite you to appear on their platform it also never hurts to ask them for their rates on how much it would cost to pay for advertising.

But don’t just jump into advertising. Before you pay to advertise, do any kind of SEO which we have not talked about yet, or even begin your outreach campaign for that matter, what you absolutely must do is create an amazing pitch for your business that inspires genuine interest, make your business look credible and authoritative, and if you do SEO, create what is called a linkable asset.

A linkable asset is essentially something of interest or value or authority that makes sense for another website owner to link to because it gives something to their audience or readers. To make your business or part of your business into a linkable asset, the business owner must have professional design, authoritative content that shows off their expertise in their specific business niche, and ideally have some sort of social proof to display, which would further convince others that their company is a good one.

In the case of this particular website, my advise would be to improve layout and design. The current design is quite outdated, and can be easily fixed by using a WordPress template and some professional images. Additionally, the ratio of text to other content (images and video, of which there are currently none) is not very good. Making the site easier to browse would make it more appealing for potential customers and other website owners who might potentially link to your website.

Note, I understand the value for SEO in having lots of text, but there is a way to have lots of text (or less text) and include more videos and photos, all of which would be even better for SEO.

Luckily, all of this is easy to fix. Additionally, here are a few resources I have available that might help you for SEO. Here is a list of my online courses that I recently made available for just $9 each. Some of the courses cover linkbuilding for SEO and other advanced SEO and social media marketing strategies.

Also check out this additional free resource I have on YouTube, which is a very comprehensive video on SEO that covers a few advanced topics:

Publishing or editorial schedule for a blog YouTube channel or podcast

facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedinmailby feather

In this video tutorial I discuss the importance of having an editorial schedule for a publication like a website, blog, a YouTube channel, a podcast, or any other kind of media. Sometimes this is called a publishing schedule and sometimes it is called an editorial schedule. These two terms mean essentially the same thing.

If you like this tutorial, try my full marketing course with over 12 hours of content.

There are many reasons that every publication needs a publishing schedule. The first reason that an editorial schedule is needed is for your audience to know when new content becomes available so that they then can come and consume that content when it is ready.

Another reason a publishing schedule is needed is for your own team to have reasonable expectations hat can be achieved and maintained long-term. It relatively simple to come up with a publishing schedule for your blog or podcast because it has to be a schedule that you can stick to without driving yourself crazy or taking away too many resources or attention from your main business.

SEO link building by begging! How to get links white hat! Good backlinks from authoritative sites

facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedinmailby feather

In this SEO tutorial video I explain how you can get good links (sometimes called backlinks) to your website from other reputable and authoritative sites that are in your business niche, and are therefore relevant in subject matter to the kind of audience you have. And if you like this tutorial, here is my Amazon author page with the 6 books I wrote. Also, try my full marketing course with over 11 hours of content.

Link building has become very difficult. In fact, you are more likely to get penalized for some link building tactics rather than benefit from them. And if you do not get penalized, quite a few of the strategies to build links to that used to work before, simply no longer work. And that will cause you to waste your time on efforts that have no chance of working.

For those reasons, I recommend that you only go after very high quality links, and don’t hire anyone or any marketing agency to get links for you because that is often quite a waste. What you should do instead is focus on getting publicity.

The way you get publicity is by using HARO which is a site for reporters who tend to look for expert sources for their stories. And if you can provide the expert opinion for their stories, they will quote you in their articles and link to you from the websites from which they write. You can do exactly the same thing with radio and podcasts by signing up for http://www.radioguestlist.com and appearing as a guest on podcast or radio. Once the episode airs, most of these will have a website from which they will link to yours. That is all you need to do in order to get great links and boost your SEO long-term.

How to make a Google Plus post to boost and improve SEO

facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedinmailby feather

In this tutorial I explain how to boost your SEO with Google Plus. Many people don’t realize this, but when you create a new Google Plus update, that update actually has its own web url, and is able to be searchable in Google. And if you like this tutorial, here is my Amazon author page with the 6 books I wrote. Also, try my full marketing course with over 11 hours of content.

In addition, you are able to structure your Google Plus posts to resemble a real page. You can create a title section, a little description section, the body of your post, and even a footer are where you should add your hashtags. You can also embed videos and photos in your Google Plus posts to help the SEO of your videos and any other links you put into your Google Plus updates.

Another great thing you can do is to try to grow the number of your Google Plus followers. The more followers you have, the more authority your posts will have within a specific niche.

Personally, I try to use Google Plus all the time when I need to help my content rank in Google search or YouTube search. Since I started using Google Plus as one of the social networks where I promote my content I have seen a boost in search rankings of some of the content that I promoted there. This doesn’t happen with all content, but I do see that it helps quite often.

SEO: How to rank & dominate Google top 10 search results and have multiple listings in Google search

facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedinmailby feather

SEO (search engine optimization): How to rank and dominate Google top 10 search results and have multiple listings in Google search.

This is one lecture from my full marketing course. Take my full course on how to promote your business and reach 1,000,000 people. Or check out my book on how to reach 1,000,000 people here. Or browse all my online courses here.

In this tutorial I explain how to have multiple listings rank in the Google top 10 search results. I explain how your website can rank in Google, but I don’t stop there. I explain how you can have multiple listings appear in the top-10 results by leveraging large platforms such as Yelp, Amazon, eBay, YouTube, Quora, or any other large platform. The key to understanding this strategy is understanding that Google likes to rank sites that are authoritative. When you compare your own website to sites like Amazon and YouTube, there is no question that Amazon and YouTube are orders of magnitude more authoritative (officially referred to as domain authority) than your business site. You must take advantage of the fact that these sites are user generated content websites, and place your listing on them. Once your listing is on your site, whether it is a video on YouTube, or a book or a product on Amazon or eBay, you must try to make your listing on that site rank #1 or close to #1 on that large platform for your listing’s main search terms.

In fact, in most cases, if you create high quality listings for your business or products on other large and authoritative sites, they will outrank your own website.

If the search terms you are targeting are not too competitive, you can easily have multiple listings in the top 10 Google search results, and dominate SEO for the search terms you are targeting.

Google Plus marketing: How to promote your business with Google Plus And Google Hangouts

facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedinmailby feather

In this tutorial I discuss how to promote your business with Google Plus. Google Plus has two interesting features. The first feature is Google Hangouts and the second feature is Google authorship (edit: Google authorship is now defunct actually). Since this video was made, Google authorship has been stopped by Google so let’s only focus on Google hangouts because they are great.

Try my full marketing course with over 11 hours of content or my marketing book on how to reach 1,000,000 people.

Here is how I promote and market my business with Google hangouts. First, you can record the Google hangouts and then post those videos on your YouTube channel. That can give you a lot of great content for your YouTube channel. This will help you get more people to discover your channel and eventually your business that you are trying to promote.

As an example of how rapidly social media marketing is evolving, one way people used to promote their business with Google Plus marketing was something called authorship. People would sign their names to articles and associate their names with their Google Plus accounts so that their accounts can grow authorship authority. For the last few years Google pushed the authorship idea, but in recent weeks they declared that the authorship initiative is dead. The hangouts feature is still available and going strong. I myself use the Google Hangouts feature to promote my business by interviewing guests using hangouts. The interviews go right to my YouTube channel, and I am able to promote the YouTube video with the interview on YouTube, which is a fantastic place to promote things.
