Lack Of Confidence And Motivation By Entrepreneurs & What To Do About It
When I originally started my business coaching practice I was very excited. All I had to do was to teach aspiring entrepreneurs whatever tactics they needed, and they would be all set, right? To my disappointment, I found that I was very wrong. Entrepreneurs need more than advice. Entrepreneurs need to find ways to stay motivated, and to handle the emotional ups and downs of starting a business. In this article I’ll explain some of my findings and my reason for starting the community of entrepreneurs on this site.
Most New Entrepreneurs Make Identical Mistakes
New entrepreneurs think that their experience is unique to them, but the reality is that 90% of new entrepreneurs make absolutely the same mistakes. Over 400,000 new entrepreneurs have downloaded my entrepreneur apps. On my apps and on my business coaching practice, I get to help many of those people, and I am continuously amazed at the frequency of how often the most basic issues come up.
In addition to the repeating questions I get on a daily and weekly basis, I also observe the emotional ups and downs faced by the entrepreneurs I help, and their path from being excited about starting a business to quitting. Let me explain how this process works.
People tend to get very excited about new business ideas. Let’s say a person wants to start a restaurant. They usually start talking about their restaurant idea with their friends, and getting advice. One of two things can happen. They either get discouraged because their friends tell them that this is a bad business idea or they learn about how much money such a business idea requires, and after learning about how difficult it would be to raise such a sum of money, they get discouraged and quit. Even if their business idea is one that can be bootstrapped, when most people learn about the amount of work needed to make their business a success, they also get discouraged and quit.
What Happens To Entrepreneurs Who Don’t Immediately Quit
Some of the new entrepreneurs decide to move forward with their business despite the negativity and caution of some of their friends, and the hard work that awaits them. Most of them move forward with their business because their daydreams confused them into thinking that all the challenges aren’t as difficult as they truly are.
Unfortunately, this quickly catches up to them because the process of starting a business is quite a daunting one. Even the most excited of entrepreneurs eventually begin making mistakes, get discouraged, and begin to work less and less on their business while procrastinating more and more. Without a proper support network, it is extremely difficult for entrepreneurs to make it through the process of starting a business without quitting. That is why I continue to emphasize the need for quality business mentoring, and continue to create ways for entrepreneurs to get business help and advice.
Materials Based On My Research Of 300,000+ Entrepreneurs
After over 300,000 people used my business apps to help them plan and start their businesses, I created a number of books and courses to help people succeed. I wrote my first business book by putting together all questions I have ever received from my database, and organizing those into major topics and subtopics. Those became chapters and subchapters in the book. Since the book is based on such tremendous research of 300,000 people I was extremely confident that it would address many of the questions and issues that new entrepreneurs had. Here is more about my business book, and here is the business book on Amazon.
Since not everyone has time to read books, I also created over 15 video-based business and marketing courses that allow you to learn by watching videos.
